The question of permissible doses of alcohol intake during pregnancy is still open. Scientists to this day could not determine what the minimum dose of alcohol, which will not be able to harm the child in any way. All the same, pregnancy and alcohol are incompatible. A lot is known about the consequences of alcohol consumption during pregnancy. Any alcohol -containing drink freely passes through the placenta and penetrates the fetal body. Its presence causes spasms of the placenta and umbilical cord, which in turn leads to oxygen starvation of the fetus. Acetaldehyde, formed as a result of the decay of alcohol products in the human body, reduces the content of zinc in the cells of the embryo and thereby violates the normal growth process. Perhaps the most dangerous effect of alcohol is its ability to influence the structure of DNA. As a result – children born with congenital malformations. Alcohol during pregnancy, even in the most minor doses, leads to inhibition of the central nervous system. There is undeniable evidence that its use causes pregnant women vitamin deficiency. In addition, it is proved that this may become one of the factors that caused a woman spontaneous miscarriage. Especially in the middle and in the last weeks of pregnancy, when the fetus is already starting to give signs of an early birth. A woman can hurry events, t.to. Nervous overexcitation when taking alcohol can be “incorrectly understood” by the organism of the woman in labor. Children of parents who drink alcohol find themselves in the risk zone of fetal alcoholic syndrome, which is expressed in deviations of mental and physical development and damage to vital organs. The weight of such children, as a rule, is lower than the established norm. The body of a pregnant woman is unpredictable. To say with accurate confidence what the effect of alcohol on pregnant women this or that alcohol can have a single case in some particular case, not a single, even the most eminent doctor will take. But any more or less knowledgeable specialist knows that the drink cannot help but affect the fetus. And sooner or later, such carelessness can become fatal for the child. Therefore, having decided to get pregnant and give birth to a child, a woman is obliged to take care of his health and remember that there are no safe “one hundred grams”. It happens that in pregnant women who do not even drink in ordinary life, there is an irresistible craving for alcohol. This does not mean in any case that the developing organism of the child requires alcohol, as many inhabitants like to explain this. In a similar situation, a pregnant woman is best to endure and protect himself from contacts with alcohol products.
